I'm pretty happy with this one even though I had to make a few alterations (again). It's a learning process...learning process... learning process. I have to chant that every now and again to keep from giving up. I chose the sleeveless version so that I can wear it over a t-shirt. I added some side slits. Before sewing, I added more width to it but then had to remove some of the width (after the shirt was put together mind you). I realize that my shoulders are a littler narrower than my stomach & hip area. So I need to keep that in mind for next time.

This looks more true-to-color than the top photo.

I really love the fabric. It's an inexpensive cotton from a local fabric store (nothing fancy) but the pattern is very Japanese-esque. Although it's printed, it reminds me of the traditional ikat cloth called kasuri.

I think that it is just gorgeous! What a fantastic job of choosing the fabric, the pattern and your wonderful sewing!
Right now I would love something like that...it is 90+ here and I am sweating to beat the band..no air conditioning. It will cool off tonight and be lovely in the morning.
best to you..e

You did a marvelous job on the sewing. It turned out great!

*sigh* I have so many sewing projects piling up that just walking past my sewing machine raises my blood pressure, ha ha.

Your sewing successes inspire me to tackle something (one thing?) on my backlog list. Thanks for the inspiration!
